So I’m a day and a couple weeks short for Monday Motivation but I’m here. This message truly resonates with me. Life can be tough and you have to surround yourselves with people who truly support you. You have to know that regardless of the decisions you make that you make decisions based on your own needs/wants and not due to pressure from outsiders looking into your life. Outside perspective is important, but it can’t dictate what you do.
That being said I’m coming to terms with the fact that I’m less than 2 weeks out from my first half marathon. I ran a 10k on thanksgiving and felt confident with the fact that I still had plenty of gas in my tank when I finished. I feel confident with my physical capabilities and trying to focus on my mental strategy.
Hopefully on December 10th I’ll be able to post that glorious post-race pic with my finishers medal!!
Yes. I am alive. I promise. I have been neglecting blogging and I apologize. We have had a busy few weeks but all for good stuff. We had a GREAT visit with my parents, a much needed long weekend to just laugh and relax! All the kids had a blast at the water park and hanging with my parents. We even had a great karaoke session our last night there. Oh the videos! 😂
On the workout front, I have reached the halfway point in my interval training program 🙌🏻 I have a big run scheduled tonight with a slated distance of 7 miles. I came close to my last goal of 6 miles so I’m excited to see how this goes. It’s scary and slightly overwhelming but I’m trying not to psych myself out before I even lace up my running shoes.
Can I just say I am sooooo late to party when it comes to podcasts?! I am wrapping up season 2 of Serial and have a few that I enjoy to stay on top of politics and keep an eye on TrumpCare. I work in the medical field, predominantly with Medicare and Medicaid recipients who could potentially be impacted by this bill so I am very interested in any and all developments. I’ve also been listening to some from the Marathon Training Academy.
I have to say with increasing my weights today my arm workout was much more fulfilling than last week! My arms were definitely shaking for each rep of the bench press. Working my way up to 8-12 reps, only able to do three sets of 5 right now but you have to start somewhere. Feeling much better like the funk is starting to lift. Looking forward to keeping on track with full body day tomorrow.
So didn’t get a chance to post yesterdays workout so here it is: Did 2.25 miles on elliptical and burned 190 cal. Finished up with abs and a few kettlebell exercises. Both yesterday and today were tough to stay motivated. I feel a little disappointed, that I could have done more. Just glad I didn’t cave into the snooze!
So much for a case of the Monday’s. Munchkin only gave me an extra 50 mins of sleep this morning making for one tired momma. I had absolutely no motivation for my workout today and felt like a lost slacker wandering around the gym. I managed to still get a decent workout though because my shoulders and abs are already sore!
